Thank God For a Good Pope

That's right, my prayers have been answered. We received a good pope.

Pope Benedict XVI, formerly known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, a.k.a. "God's rotweiler", is a hardliner.

Some might say a stick-in-the-mud, but I say he's someone who will stick up for what's right in a world where everyone wants to go-with-the-flow.

This is a blessing. We need a hardliner to get things in line, and stop the cafeteria Catholics (those who pick and choose elements of the faith) from getting their way.

This election, guided by the Holy Spirit, shows that God still favors the Catholic church such that He wants it to get back to its greatness as the great moral authority of the world.

Catholics: Stop Acting Like Spoiled Children

Now, don't get me wrong, I am a devout Catholic, but I must say a lot of people that claim to be Catholic are a bunch of spoiled children.

Wonder why I say that?

Well lets investigate a spoiled child's mentality. A spoiled child gets what they want, and when they don't like the rules they either ignore them or beg to have them changed to agree with the activities they are participating in. A spoiled child doesn't respect tradition or morality, but rather does what they want and thinks that the world revolves around them.

Now, lets apply this to many who claim to be Catholic.

These self-proclaimed Catholics go to church when they feel like it, or when they feel obligated enough to "be seen" (such as Christmas and Easter). They ignore the Church on issues such as birth control, abortion and euthanasia (see polls on the Terri Schiavo situation). They allow things like premarital sex and "shack-up" relationships without seeing anything wrong. They treat divorce in a nonchalant manner.

These are our spoiled brat "Catholics." A couple of high-profile people that fit this profile are John Kerry and Ted Kennedy.

These spoiled brats want to take the opportunity of the death of John Paul II to get their way. They are pushing for a so-called "liberal" pope who is "open to change." Of course this is an underhanded way of stating that they want a pope to let them do what they want, and reject the great moral integrity of the Church under Pope John Paul II.

I for one, am praying for the exact opposite. We, as Catholics and as a world, need a pope to stand firm in his moral convictions and to bring the Church and the world back in stride where it should be. I believe that the reforms under Vatican II were too much, and let the Catholic church get much too weak, and thus supporting the great moral decline of this century and not serving to deter it. The reforms, while not entirely bad, as a whole were entirely too sweeping and did not serve their purpose. While the intentions were good, the result overall a reduction of boundaries, which were quite necessary in a society declining significantly in morality as a whole. Given the rate at which things are changing in our world, with casual sexuality apart of our everyday lives, and the rate at which ideas such as the euthanization of the infirmed are taking hold, it is imperative that the Catholic church move in a more conservative direction for the good of mankind.

I pray that the Cardinals are guided by the Holy Spirit and make the right decision.

Well. We killed her.

Thats right. The American system killed Terri Schiavo. A system imagined to give life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to every person has been shown to only apply to a few; that we as a society can decide to kill a person if we do not believe they have a sufficient quality of life.

Who are we to put the innocent to death, yet deny 17 year old murders the same fate? Why is the world opinion upside down, to kill the innocent, and save the murderer. What about this makes sense?

Say it ain't so... The U.S. Government System Has Failed

Thats right. Anarchy must not be far away.

The system has failed thus far. And Terri Schiavo is ever closer to death as a result of the actions of leftist judges that want nothing but the destruction of the culture of life.

This is from the same page as abortion. Just in this case, we are aborting a person, via denial of hydration and food, at an extremely late stage: after 41 years of life.

We as a society have started this. We as a society must fight it, lest we fall into a society totally committed in death and not life.

LORD, help this country. LORD, we pray for the conversion of those who foster the culture of death, that they may see the Light and support life, especially the unborn and the disabled.

Starving Someone to Death is Ok (As long as a judge ok's it)

Thats right kids, after learning that you can have sex and lie about it and be president (Clinton) now we learn that you CAN starve someone to death as long as you get a judge to agree with you.

Thats the Terri Schiavo case as I see it.

This is just a terrible and horrible thing. I've never seen anyone be treated like this. Where is the PETA people? Oh yea, they only protect animals from starvation, but a human, HA!

Where's the laws that say you have to feed a human? Well there is negect, but that doesn't apply when a judge says its a 'right to die.' Well with a dog, I am required by law to feed and hydrate that dog, or else its animal cruelty, etc. But a human isn't a dog; they are often times treated worse.

And what about that husband of hers? Real winner... Has a shack-up and and two kids with said shack-up, while he's still married to Terri. Yet he's fighting to kill her. Why? The parents and numerous groups would pay for her bills, and even pay for him to give up custody? Why does he want her dead so bad? Is he afraid of something? Something like that she may get better and talk one day and expose him as a wife-beater, or worse???

I mean, when people all around you are all but condemning you for this, Governor Jeb Bush, President George W. Bush, and even the Vatican. Man, you are one BAD dude Michael Schiavo. So bad...that you deserve a shack-up even hotter than what you think you have now.... Could it be? SATAN!

Please, Everyone, Pray for Terri Schiavo, and pray for a miracle to be bestowed on her.

Crossroads Ahead: Where to turn?

Right now, I'm coming to a crossroads in my life. Decision time is nearing, and this time, I really need to make a decision.

What am I to do with my life. I've been out of school three months. And nothing even close to being promising has turned up on the employment front. Chemistry might be a great major, but no one wants to hire a new graduate.

So. What am I going to do? Is it time to go back to school and doom myself to status quo for another 2.5 years for a Masters? Is something just going to "happen" and I magically get employment (or a large sum of cash)??? Or am I going to be forced to join the military; the one truly guaranteed employment in the age of terrorism.

LORD, help me.

Lies....Deception.... The American School System

Thats right, the schools in this country make you think as though a college educated person can get any job they want, or that employers are just waiting in line for college graduates.... but thats not the case at all, for most of us.

The fact is, this is only true for a select few majors, such as accounting or nursing. Any other major and you have 50 people fighting over a job that pays $10.50 an hour after spending tens of thousands on education. But then, that job is 70 miles away, and you're to either move to earn under 25K or spend 4 grand on fuel driving to it. Then whats left... oh yea, then the IRS comes and takes their piece of the pie, then the state, then the county, and then the State of Indiana sees it fit to allow your county to tax your food another percent or two [all to fund a private hotel and convention center].........whats left? Not enough to live on.

Hence, I'm still unemployed.

Valentine's Day: It can be good for some...

Yea, "V" day as some call it. Once a day I hated. Despised even.

I remember in high school seeing people exchange flowers, cards, etc. I always felt bad, cuz I had no one. No friends. No girlfriend. Nothing outside of unappreciated crushes.

It felt like crap.

But over three years ago, I rediscovered someone wonderful; the love of my life since. On our third Valentine's Day, it never felt so good to spend so much on plants and chocolate.

Job Fairs are Pointless

Thats right. Pointless. Unless you want to sell insurance for life; which means lie for a living.

The only thing I got out of that experience was a bill for $12 worth of parking garage and tired legs. And, oh yea, a car that didn't want to leave, but thats another story.

I recently applied to a rat factory. Well, thats what I call it.

It does produce rats for lab use. Apparently this is big business, with several of these operations around the country producing from rats to rabbits and from monkeys to mice.

Military Uses Robots For Iraq

Just thought this was pretty cool. The US Army will soon be utilizing small robot drones with mounted guns for operations in Iraq.

Job Hunting: A Sea of Empty

Sorry for not posting sooner [not like anyone checks this anyways].

After having graduated [yes, the diploma finally came], now I must find a job. I have learned this much: job hunting is not fun, exciting, or easy.

I have been looking, though as some would say half-heartedly, for a solid month, and so far, no prospects. I now doubt my choice as a chemistry major.

Who knows what the future will bring? Winning the lottery? A job? Death?

I'm just asking for option 2.

Graduation is Scary

Well, I'm graduating in essentially 2 weeks. This is some scary stuff. Here I am, graduating a full semester early, having no clue what I'm doing. I'm leaving behind everything I know: I'm leaving the school environment, perhaps for good, I'm leaving behind familar faces, both positive and negative, I'm leaving the way of life I've known for almost 17 years; school.

I'm scared to death.

Election Gets Down to Wire : My Faith in Humanity Fades

As it gets down to the wire, it keeps looking like Kerry is going to win. That thought makes me shudder, and almost want to cry. It just scares me so much, because I have this horrible feeling about a man that has no convictions.

It has become clear to me that Kerry will function to destroy this country further by enhancing the power of government over the people. How do you do that? There are several ways, but one is by banning weapons, namely firearms. Toilet Kerry has shown his colors in his past; he has voted in the Senate to ban fireams like semi-automatic shotguns. Kerry has also shown a want to ban all semi-automatic rifles. By doing this, Kerry would be consolidating the power of the presidency, poised to enslave the American people. Too harsh? I don't think so, for the best way to control a people is to dis arm them, which can easiliy lead to such institutions as communism and facism. Not only are our second amendment rights on the line, but also our own freedom, and its become clear that Kerry would move to disarm the public, removing a right that has kept the government in check since 1776.

The fact that Kerry, by most recent polls and predictions, is winning the presidency makes me wonder about society. Are people really so short sighted that they cannot see the clear choice in this election? Are they so stupid that they believe a litany of promises with rose colored glasses and refuse to look at the downsides? Is this country moving from a man with convictions to a man with none? Kerry, by all accounts is a man that, like a windsock, would point this country based on which way the wind is blowing, and whatever is popular in the world. Toilet Kerry would bow down the UN, an organization with corruption deep in its veins, its pockets full of money ill-gotten off the backs of oppressed people such as the Iraqis. These facts as I see them would NEVER allow any person with a brain to vote for Kerry.

I am now coming out with my predictions. I believe that Bush will win the election by winning the toss-up states of Iowa, Minnesota, and Florida, but will lose Ohio to Kerry.

This just enhances my view that Ohio sucks.

Standford University predicts a 76.4% chance of a Bush win in the 2004 Presidential election. The new prediction is based on state poll data to determine the probabilities of each of the candidates winning the electoral votes of each state. Stanford has a map that shows the probability of the candidates winning each state, and then used those values to calculate and predict the Bush win.

Hydrogen Powered, Self-Fueling Truck Constructed

Some crazy people at Central High School in Arizona have built a conventional internal combustion truck that runs on hydrogen, but thats not the best part: It also fuels itself.

Using solar panels, the truck powers electrolysis that produces hydrogen from water which it then in turn uses for fuel. While the technology isnt perfect yet, its still quite a feat.

Bravo to those modifying internal combustion engines to utilize H2 as a fuel source.

The Terrorists Need to Hurry Up

Most people would agree; the terrorists are going to strike the mainland United States again at some point. Well I, for one, would like to give them a message: Hurry up!

I mean, yea, terror attacks are bad and people die, but since we're in agreement that its going to happen, I think it would be best to get it over with. Part of the problem with these terrorists is that they are procrastinators. To me, this is worse because I anticipate these attacks and constantly wonder, "when is it going to come?" I want to stop wondering, and start killing some terrorists.

Paperless Voting Systems are Scary

New voting systems driven by the 2000 Election controversy are in and of themselves controversial. New systems such as touch-screen voting boxes, often have no paper trail. That is, they record your votes entirely electronically : therefore, there is no way for a human to physically recount votes if there was some type of problem. This lack of redundant and humanly verifiable voting records is simple recklessness on the part of government officials that have purchase such expensive and faulty voting machines.

The fact is: Computers crash. Digital cards lose data. Hackers exist.

This should be enough for anyone to realize that black box voting is unacceptable. We need a papertrail.

Suicide Bombings: They could happen here.

In the wake of a new suicide bombing in Israel, I wondered, whats keeping that from happening here?

Do we really think that our country is safer? Well it isn't. Explosives here are readily available, and instructions on bombs and the like are readily available on the internet. I have personally read such documents. No police force in the world is able to stop suicide bombings, even the elite forces of Israel cannot prevent such attacks. The fact is, if terrorists bring the suicide bombers here, there is no way to stop the attacks.

Imagine the chaos and fear a few suicide bombings would cause. We rarely think about such things as we see suicide bombings as generally an Israel thing, or an Iraq thing. But the fact is, terrorists love to create chaos. Terrorists love to create fear. Terrorists love to disrupt the country. And the fact is, suicide bombings would be a perfect way to advance their cause.

Move over Microsoft: Google to become most evil software company.

Its long been stated how evil Microsoft is with its OS and browser being so prevalent in the world today. Is Microsoft really that evil? Yes, maybe MS has trampled some of the competition. Does that make it evil, or just smart?

Despite your stance on MS, Google's plans are quite sinister. It is well known that Google keeps track of your searches and then places ads accordingly. This has been known for sometime, and we've come to accept it, and even utilize relevant ads. However, Google is now in development of projects that push it over the top into the evil category. First, Gmail. Gmail, Google's now beta email system, gives you 1 GB of email storage in return for, in essence, Google being allowed to read your mail. But, Google is not finished yet. It has started the development of its Gbrowser, to compete with Internet Explorer and Firefox for the browser market. This will, most likely, allow them to keep track of every site you visit, and may include Google directed advertising hard coded into the browser.
